The craft of block printing is mesmerizing.  For hours one could watch spellbound, moving, stamping hands creating different motifs turning into stunning patterns colouring blank canvas of cloth.

This craft contains history of passion, hard work of millenia. Over the centuries, various techniques of blockprinting have evolved. One of them is called Gudd.

Perhaps, the most labour and time intensive technique, in Gudd every colour is separately applied, fixed with organic solutions, dried, washed and then again dried for the next colour. The process is repeated as many times as  a design has colours in it. This particular technique requires artisanship of the highest order to balance colours, fixing solutions and dexterous printing.
